Ornament on Cover of Holiday Catalog

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!  I am thankful every day for waking up and living in America!

Yes I finally did it...made the ornament and so many of us have been gazing at.  Now I get to share it with you too!

I used the CANDLELIGHT CHRISTMAS DESIGNER PAPER (page 4 Holiday Catalog) to cut out all of my pieces.  Then I used the CRUMB CAKE TULLE (page 4).  I think this tulle is going to be great for wrapping presents!  Love the scallop edge on it.

The center of the ornament uses one of the VINTAGE FACETED DESIGNER BUTTONS (page 176 of the big catalog).

Triple Time Stamping is SO COOL!

We did this at Stamp Club month.  The finished result looks amazing and super hard...but when you break it down and see how to do it, it really is easy!

You basically take 3 layers of WHITE (or a light cardstock) and stamp on them.  I give the dimensions below.  Then take apart those three white layers...and add the color in between.  The above sample I used three different colors for layering but you can also keep it all the same.  Notice the CHAMPAGNE GLIMMER PAPER as the first layer.  It has great sparkle.  That is on page 18 of the Holiday Catalog.

This is the WATERCOLOR WINTER set (p. 14 of the Holiday catalog).  Love poinsettias!  On the sample above I added some RED LIQUID GLITTER to the center.  On the sample below I used the 2WAY GLUE PEN and DAZZLING DIAMONDS GLITTER.

Triple Time Stamping

Cut lighter cardstock:  2x3 1/4, 3x4 1/4, 4x5 1/4

Cut darker cardstock:  2 1/4 x 3 1/2, 3 1/4 x 4 1/2 and then the one piece is the card (5 1/2 x 8 1/2)

1. Use a little bit of adhesive and  put the 3 light pieces together.  Stamp from the center going out.  If you want a saying be sure to stamp that first.

2. Take apart the layers and now put together with the darker cardstock. 

3. I like to add ribbon around the 2nd layer.

4. Optional to use dimensional for any of the layers.

SPICE CAKE card box

Yes I am still loving the SPICE CAKE designer paper.  Here is a box I made very quickly using the new SIMPLY SCORED SCORING TOOL (p. 7 of the Holiday Mini).  I stamped with the GENTLY FALLING stamp set.

The box is made from an 8 1/2" x 11" piece of cardstock.  I used SOFT SUEDE because it matches so great with the pack of paper.

How to make it:  On the cardstock that measures 8 1/2"....Score at 1 1/4" and also at 7 1/4"

Then on the side that measures 11"...Score at 4 1/2" and also at 6 1/2".

You need to make 4 little cuts on the center score lines.  That is what will be the bottom.I think it will make sense to you when you have it in front of you :)  It just makes a simple box.   

I love this as it holds about 6 homemade cards and envelopes very neatly.  What a great gift!!!

To finish the project I used STICKY STRIP to hold the box together.  Also used it for the ribbon handles.  I cut 2 pieces of ribbon at 18" each for those handles.  Have fun and embellish however your little heart desires!

Happy May Day! plus a new embossing folder

Happy May Day!  Do you have a May Day tradition?  I can't say that we have a tradition...but I do like the thought of sunny days and the beautiful weather of May (well I am hoping that this is a beautiful month)!

Here is a look at a new product available in the new SUMMER MINI CATALOG.  This catalog runs May 1 - August 31. 

 
The big flower on the right side of the card is done with the new embossing folder called FLOWER GARDEN.  I took the CHAMPAGNE SHIMMER PAINT and a SPONGE DAUBER and smudged it all over the WHISPER WHITE CARDSTOCK that I started with.

The black strip of paper is from the NEWSPRINT DESIGNER PAPER PACKAGE.  The saying is from the BOLD BLOSSOM stamp set.  I used GOLD EMBOSSING POWDER for that saying.  The punch used is the DECORATIVE LABEL PUNCH.  I punched it one time on the WHITE layer for the saying.  I also punched a BASIC BLACK piece out and a BRUSHED GOLD piece out.  See how I have the 3 punched layers on top of one another?

 
 
I experimented with tearing the black piece of designer paper...I like it both ways!  To get the 3 gold brads lined up in a row I used the MAT PACK GUIDE.  That is a great way to get those brads where you want them.  :)

Bold Blossom Meets Tissue Paper

I am having a great time using the TISSUE PAPER Technique.  Just stamp on ordinary white tissue paper then crumple it up.  Next apply the tissue paper to WHISPER WHITE CARDSTOCK using a glue stick.  Love the crinkled look you get!

 
The colors are DAFFODIL DELIGHT, MELON MAMBO, WILD WASABI and TANGERINE TANGO.  The stamp set is called BOLD BLOSSOM.  It was first featured in the OCCASIONS MINI CATALOG and is being carried over into the SUMMER MINI CATALOG - YEAH!  I used the SCALLOP BORDER PUNCH along the bottom of the MELON MAMBO piece.

 
I used the STAMPIN' DIMENSIONALS to lift up the butterfly.  Here is the stamp set:

 
It is available in both the wood and the clear stamps.

Just Believe by Dianna

I received this beautiful card in the mail for Easter from my friend Dianna.  Isn't it lovely? 

 
The colors are definitely yummy!  They are DAFFODIL DELIGHT, PEACH PARFAIT, PEAR PIZZAZZ and POPPY PARADE.  The stamp set is called JUST BELIEVE. 

 
The coloring  technique is using the MARKERS.  You color right on the stamp with your markers.  Then give it a good "huff" to breathe life back into the ink (makes it juicy!)

The saying is punched out with the WORD WINDOW PUNCH and then layered on the MODERN LABEL PUNCH.

 
This stamp set came out in the July 2010 big catalog.  I sure hope it stays around for awhile...cuz I love it!

I am wishing you a beautiful day for Easter Sunday!  This project was the favorite of many of the stamp club members this month.  A special thanks to my downline friend Andrea for sending me this idea.  It is super great!

 
The stamp set is GREENHOUSE GARDEN.  It has 10 stamps in this 2-step set.  This project uses MARINA MIST, BAJA BREEZE and BASIC GREY for the colors.  I used those colors in the cardstock and also for the ink. 

Now I am not sure if you can see the texture in the piece that is stamped with flowers....but it is actually stamped on tissue paper.  You stamp on the tissue paper and then crumble the tissue paper up to give it a few more wrinkles.

This next photo shows the tissue paper attached to WHISPER WHITE cardstock.  HINT:  tissue paper does not like adhesives...because it can easily ruin the tissue paper by tearing it...or it shows through the tissue paper.  It is best to use the glue stick to attach the tissue paper.  And the final hint...it is best to put the glue stick on the white cardstock.  Then put the tissue paper on that and trim the edges.  I like to cut the tissue paper in a larger piece than the cardstock.

 

For the saying I embossed this with the SILVER EMBOSSING POWDER on WHISPER WHITE cardstock and them layered it on BAJA BREEZE.  The 2 PUNCHES are the SCALLOP OVAL and the OVAL PUNCH.  

 

At the bottom of the BASIC GREY cardstock I used the SCALLOP BORDER PUNCH.  THe ribbon is the MARINA MIST 1/4" GROSGRAIN RIBBON.

I can see this same card stamped using yellow and orange, or orange and pink, or yellow and red.....lots of brilliant color combinations. 

On the inside of the card I also embossed a saying with the SILVER EMBOSSING POWDER.

A Beautiful Flower Garden...

Since some of my gardens are overcome by weeds....I can just look at all the great Designer Paper that I won and see a beautiful flower garden!!!

It is ITEM #117167 and uses Pear Pizzazz, Daddofil Delight, Chocolate Chip, Real Red, Pumpkin Pie and Baja Breeze for the awesome colors in this bundle.

I decided to use the same basic card layout to see what a variety of cards I could make.

Just by doing a little mixing and matching you can use the same layout over and over.  This is what the cards looked lie before I added a saying on them.

My new favorite punch is the DOTTED SCALLOP RIBBON BORDER (Item #119275).  It is a little tough to figure out what it really does just by looking at it......but it is yummy!!!

You line up your cardstock and punch down the line...

It makes the cardstock look like a piece of ribbon!  Love it!!!
