Come Sail With Me

 

I have had fun using this stamp.  It is a single stamp and available in the SUMMER MINI CATALOG.  It goes away on August 31.  The colors are BASIC GREY, NOT QUITE NAVY, CHERRY COBBLER.  I stamped the BASIC GREY cardstock with BASIC GREY ink just to give it some texture.  I stamped the sailboat on CONFETTI WHITE and then ripped it.  (To me it seems like it is more masculine when it has a ripped piece!)

To color it, I used the Stampin' Pastels.  Just go quickly and smudge the colors around for that watercolor feel.  On the bottom piece of CHERRY COBBLER I added the SILVER BRADS and a piece of the CHERRY COBBLER/WHITE BAKER'S TWINE.  This twine is really fun to work with.

I Am Loving' It!

I am lovin' the Blossom Bouquet Triple Layer Punch............wowser!  It came out in May and I just keep saying to myself that it is a great punch.  It is called TRIPLE because there are 3 settings on it.  You get a large and a small solid blossom, plus you get the outline and the detailed blossom.

 
Those glimmer brads are super fun on these flowers!!!  The HAPPY BIRTHDAY saying is from the set called CURLY CUTE.

Hello Blossoms

 

Look what you can do with a single stamp???  This is the HELLO BLOSSOMS stamp that is in the SUMMER MINI CATALOG.  It is $7.95 and packs a lot of punch.  Here is a sample they had for us on the cruise....

By adding the punched out flowers...and the pearls...and the vintage brad...and the different cardstock...you get a really cool card!  I call it somewhat of a vintage look.

 
Just think of all the things you can do with those scraps of cardstock that you have in your possession!

The colors used here are CERTAINLY CELERY and ELEGANT EGGPLANT.

Graduation Card Fun

Now this is a fun graduation card!  Thanks to Laura Barto for the awesome sample!!

 
There is a lot happening on this card...but I think it all works.  Sometimes cards can get too busy, but this one works!  The stamps are from the set called TRAVEL LOG.  This is a set in the SUMMER MINI CATALOG.  If you don't have a Summer Mini, please let me know.

The colors are POPPY PARADE, PEAR PIZZAZZ, MARINA MIST, BASIC GREY and GARDEN GREEN.

The saying is from the stamp set called WORD PLAY.  Lots of fun sayings in that set.

Love how the silver brad is used in the center of the graduation cap!

 

The TRAVEL LOG stamp set has 8 stamps in it.  It is available in WOOD or CLEAR.

On The Grow

Another new set from the SUMMER MINI CATALOG is called ON THE GROW.  It is available in wood and clear.

 

This card was made by Karen Titus.  It features a piece of TANGERINE TANGO polka-dot DESIGNER PAPER in the background and WILD WASABI CARDSTOCK that is torn.  The white lines are drawn with the UNIBALL WHITE GEL PEN.  If you look very closely you can see all the tiny holes that are made in the wild wasabi piece.

The flowers are colored in with the markers.  Then using that same WHITE GEL PEN make all the little dots for the center of each flower.  The jar has a shiny look to it....that is CRYSTAL EFFECTS on the entire jar.  It does take a while for the crystal effects to dry completely.  But when it is dry, it is a great look!

More on THE OPEN SEA

I am loving seeing all these samples for masculine cards.  Father's Day is coming up....and I can see this being a great Father's Day card!

 
This is another great sample I got from a swap.  This card is made by Rene Watson.  Thanks!!

It features the NAUTICAL EXPEDITION designer paper and the stamp set called THE OPEN SEA.  It also uses the EARLY EXPRESSO/WHITE Baker's Twine.  All of these products are available in the SUMMER MINI CATALOG.

The colors in the card are BASIC GREY, CHERRY COBBLER, CRUMB CAKE, and VERY VANILLA.

 
The TWO TAGS DIE is used with the BIG SHOT for a great piece.

 

There are 5 stamps in the set.  It is available in WOOD and CLEAR.

 
I love all the subtle stamping on this card.  Take a closer look on the grey and you can see the globe and the journal stamped.  Look at the tag piece and you can see the compass stamped very lightly.  The torn edges are also a bonus for making it look great!

Summer Splash

Are you ready for the summer heat?  I am...but we have not had very much of it (yet).  My kids were just talking about tubing down the river.  I will do that...but it has to be hot!

 
I received this sample in a card swap from Carol Payne.  Thanks Carol! 

The surfboards are embossed so they have a shiny look to them.  To get that blue sky look...you can use a dauber and an ink pad to dab the blue onto the white cardstock.  The UNIBALL WHITE GEL PEN is used to draw in the birds and the little waves.

She mounted the surfboard piece onto MELON MAMBO cardstock and then again onto PUMPKIN PIE cardstock.  The big card piece is made from DAFFODIL DELIGHT.  The SQUARE LATTICE EMBOSSING FOLDER is used to get all that texture on the DADDODIL piece.  To get the pattern to show up more, you can use a dauber to highlight all the little bumps on the SQUARE LATTICE.

 

The stamp set is available in WOOD or CLEAR.  There are 7 pieces in the set.

Beautiful Pink...It Really Is!

This is a fabulous sample using the STRENGTH & HOPE stamp set.  The card is made by Lynn Anderson.

 
The colors are PRETTY IN PINK and MELON MAMBO.  The outside of the card is embossed with the TULIPS EMBOSSING FOLDER.  Not sure if you can see the shimmer on the butterfly...but it does have an awesome shimmer.  That shimmer is made by the SMOOCH products. 

Take note at how the edges of the white piece are SPONGED...makes a soft look.

 
The PEARLS on the butterfly and the H square add so much beauty.  The H is punched out with the NEW POSTAGE PUNCH.

Scrapbooking with Playful Polka Dots

There is a great SCRAPBOOKING KIT in the SUMMER MINI CATALOG called Playful Polka Dots.  You get 12 x 12 sheets of solid cardstock, designer paper, embellishments, and self-adhesive die cuts in the package.  It makes for some super easy scrapbooking....or you can use them for almost any project!  I have used these for making fast cards.

These are some cute ideas to use in a 6x6 scrapbook.  I took these photos from someone's ideas on the Alaskan Cruise.  Thanks to whomever that was!!

Sail Away

 
Doesn't this look like a great way to spend a day....sailing!!!  Imagine the wind blowing gently in your face and the birds flying above...

This card uses the SQUARE LATTICE EMBOSSING FOLDER to give it lots of great texture.  It is used on the big background piece and also on the smaller piece with the sailboat.

Thanks to Gwen Petrashek for making this sample.  It features NIGHT OF NAVY and SAHARA SAND for the colors.  There is a small piece of BLUEBERRY CRISP designer paper going across the card.

I love the tiny details like the TICKET CORNER PUNCH used in the 2 upper corners of the sailboat.
