Happy Easter To You All!

I am wishing you a beautiful day for Easter Sunday!  This project was the favorite of many of the stamp club members this month.  A special thanks to my downline friend Andrea for sending me this idea.  It is super great!

 
The stamp set is GREENHOUSE GARDEN.  It has 10 stamps in this 2-step set.  This project uses MARINA MIST, BAJA BREEZE and BASIC GREY for the colors.  I used those colors in the cardstock and also for the ink. 

Now I am not sure if you can see the texture in the piece that is stamped with flowers....but it is actually stamped on tissue paper.  You stamp on the tissue paper and then crumble the tissue paper up to give it a few more wrinkles.

This next photo shows the tissue paper attached to WHISPER WHITE cardstock.  HINT:  tissue paper does not like adhesives...because it can easily ruin the tissue paper by tearing it...or it shows through the tissue paper.  It is best to use the glue stick to attach the tissue paper.  And the final hint...it is best to put the glue stick on the white cardstock.  Then put the tissue paper on that and trim the edges.  I like to cut the tissue paper in a larger piece than the cardstock.

 

For the saying I embossed this with the SILVER EMBOSSING POWDER on WHISPER WHITE cardstock and them layered it on BAJA BREEZE.  The 2 PUNCHES are the SCALLOP OVAL and the OVAL PUNCH.  

 

At the bottom of the BASIC GREY cardstock I used the SCALLOP BORDER PUNCH.  THe ribbon is the MARINA MIST 1/4" GROSGRAIN RIBBON.

I can see this same card stamped using yellow and orange, or orange and pink, or yellow and red.....lots of brilliant color combinations. 

On the inside of the card I also embossed a saying with the SILVER EMBOSSING POWDER.

Fun Stuff from Stamp Classes

Time to share a variety of things with you.  Here is a sweet card to share with you from the ICE CREAM CAPITAL OF THE WORLD.  We did this one at a Stamp-a-Stack class.

 
 
This is a fun way to cover up a candy bar.  This one happens to be a Hershey's bar....easy to cover them when they are skinny. 

 
Now this just makes me smile thinking about how this all happened.  I have a customer named Donna that told me she had taken a class on how to do origami....and even can do it with toilet paper.  So Donna was at Stamp Club and went in to use the bathroom.  As the night went on NOBODY used the bathroom and finally Donna says "doesn't anyone need to use the bathroom?"  That made me think that she probably did some origami for us and we were all going to miss it.  So...here is what she did!

 
We all had a great laugh about this.  You just never know what might happen at Stamp Club!

Halloween is Coming!

Is your household trying to figure out what costumes they need?  I thought this year we could all figure out what we needed just by digging through what we have.  No going out and buying anything new this year.  We will see how that works...  Ask me about it after Halloween!

This is a great card we did for Stamp Club.  Had lots of people love this one...

 

We colored the socks/boots and hat with the markers.  Don't forget to "huff" when you use this technique.  The huffing helps get the ink moistened so it stamps darker.  The colors in this project are RICH RAZZLEBERRY, BASIC BLACK and WHISPER WHITE.  The stamp set is called WICKED COOL.  We used the SCLOOP EDGE BORDER PUNCH along the piece of white cardstock.  Not sure if you can tell that the black strip is a piece of STICKY STRIP then BLACK GLITTER on it.

A Fun Fold to Try

Not sure what the official name of this is...but I call it a FUN FOLD!

Start with a piece of cardstock that is 4" x 12"

Score is at 2", 4", and tiny score mark at the 6" at top and bottom, score at 8" and 10"

Then you need to make 2 big X's that go from the 2" mark to the 6" tiny mark and another one from the 6" mark to the 10" mark.

Now you can scrunch it together and it fits nicely into a standard envelope that we carry.

 

Look at the embellishments you can do with it:

I made the flowers with the BIG SHOT and the FLOWER FOLDS DIE.  That die makes 4 different size flowers.  I did not make the largest flower from the die.

The colors used in the project are RICH RAZZLEBERRY, OLD OLIVE and PALE PLUM.  The designer paper that has all of these colors is called COTTAGE WALL.  That paper pack won't be available after June 30th.

I punched the corners of the designer paper with the SCALLOP TRIM CORNER PUNCH.  That is $9.95.

The stamp set used on the top circle is called WOW FLOWERS.  I colored in the saying with the OLD OLIVE and the RICH RAZZLEBERRY markers.

I punched the 2 top circles with the 1 1/4" CIRCLE PUNCH and the 1 3/8" CIRCLE PUNCH.

This is another of the stamp club projects for this month.  Fun fun!

February Stamp Club Projects

Here is one of the projects from this month's stamp club.  It is an easel card.  It is the normal size card, but you can stand it up so it can sit on your desk, table, etc.  Lots of photos to help you see the process.

Directions:

1. Take 4 1/4" x 11" piece of cardstock as your card base.  Fold in half.  Then hold the front piece of the card back (so you end up getting it to look like a "Z").
2. That folded piece needs to have another piece of cardstock attached to it.  Use 1/4 of a piece of cardstock (which is 4 1/4" x 5 1/2").  Once you attach that piece, it should fold nicely and look just like a basic card.
3. To make the part for the "easel" to stand up...use a piece of designer paper or cardstock.  Mine measured 1 1/2" x 4 1/4".  It needs to have a "lip" or something to hold up the card.  I like to use the scallop punch.  Attach that piece to the inside of the card.
4. Finish your card with stamps, ribbons, embellishments....

Vintage Vogue

Here is another of our Stamp Club projects.

The striped paper started out as white paper....from the BRIDE SPECIALTY PAPER.  It looks like this...you get striped sheets and swirly sheets.

To get the color on the white paper, use the brayer.  Run the brayer across an ink pad a few times.  I used RICH RAZZLEBERRY for my color.  Then you roll it back and forth on the white paper.  The striped part and the swirly part of the white paper does not "take" the color.  It is a great technique. 

There are lots of other things going on with the card.

• I drew a thin line of 2-way glue on the outside of the "F friends" piece.  You want to use scratch paper when doing this...because you really want more glue to get on the scratch paper and less glue to get on the project.  Then dip the whole side into the DAZZLING DIAMONDS GLITTER.
• Emboss the "F friends" with black embossing powder.
• Use the TICKET CORNER PUNCH of all 4 corners of the top piece...and also the black cardstock that you layer it on.
• The background of the main card is using the VERY VINTAGE JUMBO WHEEL in black ink.
• The stamp set is called VINTAGE VOGUE.  It is available in the OCCASIONS MINI CATALOG for $17.95 in clear mount or $23.95 in wood mount stamps.
• The bottom of the card is punched with the SCALLOP TRIM BORDER PUNCH.  This is a FREE ITEM when you spend $50 between now and March 31st.  This is the SALE-A-BRATION promotion.
• I used a 1 inch piece of the bride paper as it comes (in white) to add a strip across the card...and also punched an edge of the black cardstock using that same SCALLOP TRIM BORDER PUNCH.
• The BLACK GROSGRAIN RIBBON is attached with a MINI GLUE DOT.

Sending Love Specialty Paper

This is one of the stamp club projects we did this week.............and everyone loved it!

This card used REAL RED, CHOCOLATE CHIP and VERY VANILLA cardstock.  The designer paper is called SENDING LOVE SPECIALTY PAPER and has those 3 colors in it...plus PRETTY IN PINK.

The paper is so cool.  I will post the pictures so that you can maybe see the glitter on the paper.  The paper comes that way!  It is double-sided paper.  On one side of it has GLITTER "baked" onto it.  It really is cool.

This is a close up of this piece.  It may just be my very favorite piece (but I love pink!)

To make the card up above, I ran a piece of VERY VANILLA through the BIG SHOT using an EMBOSSING FOLDER.  That gives it the impression of the flowers.  It is great to see that texture.  I also used a piece of the new SATIN CHOCOLATE CHIP RIBBON.

The saying (from the set WHIMSICAL WORDS) is punched out with the OVAL SCALLOP PUNCH and then I punched 2 oval scallops on REAL RED cardstock.  The tiny bit of CHOCOLATE CHIP that you can see on the back layer of the saying is punched with the LARGE OVAL PUNCH. 

On the top of the saying embellishment I used a new EPOXY BRAD.  They come in REAL RED, PRETTY IN PINK and CHOCOLATE CHIP.  I think they are stinkin' cute!

I love this layout and this color combination.  It is a great basic layout to copy and make lots of cards!

November Stamp Club

What a great time again at stamp club.  Want to join the fun?  We meet once a month...but we do skip a few months too.

Stamp set is A WISH FOR PEACE.  Stamped the trees/church using CHOCOLATE CHIP, then used the PASTELS to add a little color.  Of course...had to put glitter on the whole thing!

The dove is also from the same set and stamped in CHOCOLATE CHIP.  Cut that little dove out with the PAPER SNIPS.  If you don't have a good little scissors.....then you need these!  They are $9.95 (Right, Renee?)

The card itself is SAGE SHADOW, the layer under the trees is CERTAINLY CELERY.

For the ribbon, use the HORIZONTAL SLOT to punch a hole on the edge of the card.  Then you have ribbon without using a whole bunch.

I love gift bags......who is with me?  We were being "green" long before there was a name for it!!!

Take some designer paper (MERRY MOMENTS used here) and add it to your basic bag...really dresses it up.  We also used the SCALLOP EDGE PUNCH to add the red scallop look at the bottom and top of that ornament paper.

There is a wheel used at the bottom of the bag...TRIM A TREE...rolled in REAL RED.

The tag is from DELIGHTFUL DECORATIONS.  We used markers to color on that to get 2 colors (close to cocoa and real red). 

Who wouldn't love getting a gift in this packaging???

These FRESH CUTS notecards are the bomb!  Or that is what so many stamp club members said when they were using them.  They are packaged 15 notecards/envelopes in a package...and they make a great looking card look like you really spent a ton of time on it!

The stamp set used here is called FRESH CUTS too!  I love how Stampin' Up! coordinates so many things.  We used OLD OLIVE and APRICOT APPEAL for the colors.  The 5-PETAL FLOWER PUNCH is a perfect match for this project.  We added some extra bling by using a felt flower from FLOWER FUSHION and a BRAD from the FIRE CIRCLE BRADS.

There are 2 other packages of these "cut-out" note cards in the big catalog.  They are on page 168...called ELEGANT and PENDANT.

Halloween Goblins

This is a project I did this week with my STAMP CLUB.  If you ever want to come and check out a stamp club, please let me know!

How do you make it?  Start with the PETAL CARD BIGZ die and run it through the BIG SHOT.  It will give you this:  There are 4 really nice crease lines...so you just fold it up to make a little square.

Then I took a 2 1/4" square piece of designer paper from CAST A SPELL paper pack.  Love it!!!

 

Add some 1/4" grosgrain ribbon...wrap it around the whole thing.  Or you can use a piece of the really thick NEW striped ribbon.  It is 1 1/4" thick.  I stapled a piece behind the circle embellishment.

August Stamp Club, Part 2

Here are the other projects we did for Stamp Club this week.

Project #3:  A great manly card with a outdoor feel to it!  I used the BIG SHOT with the TOP NOTE DIE and wanted to try out the brand new WOOD SHEETS.  They have the feel of wood and you can even see the grain in them! 

 

The card is using the new IN-COLOR DUSTY DURANGO.  The designer paper on the left side of the card is from the package of paper called AUTUMN TRADITIONS.  Then I used a tiny strip of leftover SOFT SUEDE cardstock.  That is also one of the new IN-COLORS.

The stamp set is AUTUMN DAYS.  It has that great pheasant and the wheat in it.  I grew up in South Dakota....so this looks just like home to me!   This is a piece of the WOOD SHEETS that I ran through the BIG SHOT with the TOP NOTE die.  Then I cut the piece in half.

At the top of the card is saying from TEENY TINY WISHES punched out with the WORD WINDOW PUNCH.  Then it is layered on the MODERN LABEL PUNCH.

At the bottom of the card I used 3 brads.  To get them lined up all in a row, I used the mat pack and the paper piercing tool.

Project #4:  Surprise, surprise...I did a flower card.  Seems like I always do something with flowers!  But...this time of the year everything looks so great with all the blooming going on!

 

The colors in this card are RICH RAZZLEBERRY and MELON MAMBO (2 more of the new IN-COLORS) and also good old standard colors...OLD OLIVE and PUMPKIN PIE. 

The stamp set is called GREENHOUSE GARDEN.  This is a 2-step stamp set....where there are pieces that are meant to stamp on top of one another.  It is a little tricky to line up both stamps because of all the fine detail in the flowers.  Use the STAMP-A-MA-JIG to line it up.  If you don't know how to use that little product...please ask! 

I torn the edge of the white confetti cardstock just for a little more texture.  The ribbon is BASIC GREY.  Notice that I lifted some of the flowers using the dimensionals.  How do you cut out those flowers???  I love using the PAPER SNIPS for that detail work.
