The new IN-COLORS

Welcome to the 2012-2014 IN-COLORS.  The official names are RASPBERRY RIPPLE, GUMBALL GREEN, MIDNIGHT MUSE, PRIMROSE PETALS and SUMMER STARFRUIT.  

These colors will be around for 2 years.  You can get a full product line from cardstock, ink pads, ribbons, markers, and the new DAHLIAS.  (I have never heard of that word before...but basically it is a stinkin' cute little flower somewhat like a button).

Thanks to Wendy for making this sample that includes all of the IN-COLORS.  The base color is Raspberry Ripple.  You can see the see a little bit of the matching STITCHED ribbon sticking out.  I do have a $5 ribbon package of all 5 of the IN-COLORS ready to go for you.  Let me know if you would like one.  

The POSTAGE STAMP PUNCH and the 1 1/4" SQUARE PUNCH are used for all of the accent pieces.  Fun card!

Every time I same Primrose Petals I think of the Hunger Games...anyone else agree with me on that on???  (Get it...Prim!)

 

Elements of Style = GOT STYLE!

Does this card just scream style or what?  This is definitely the style of Peg...she is the creator of it!  Thanks girl!!  She always uses a variety of punches and ribbon.

The big background stamp is HELLO DOILY on page 127.  What a clever name instead of Hello Dolly.  The swirly stamps are from ELEMENTS OF STYLE on page 134.  They are available in clear or wood.  This set is great for filling in spots.

The colors featured are CONCORD GRAPE and VERY VANILLA.  The lace ribbon is used on top of that piece running on the right side.  That ribbon coordinates beautifully with the big DOILY stamp!

Happy Birthday Sister!

Happy Birthday to my younger sister, Kris!  May your day be filled with blessings, love and laughter!

Here we three girls are...Vicky, Kris and I.  We also have 3 brothers.  :)

 
When Kris got married she used hydrangeas for her flowers.  What a beautiful day that was!  This is one of the cards we did at Stamp A Stack class last week.  Made me think of her wedding day!

 
The dark purple is ELEGANT EGGPLANT cardstock and ink.  It almost looks black here.  I used the TULIPS EMBOSSING FOLDER for the outside frame with WHISPER WHITE cardstock.   The ribbon is the SEAM BINDING RIBBON that is so fun to work with.  You can scrunch it up and it gives it a fun texture.   The ribbon will be nice and flat inside the envelope.  I put tiny pearls at the ends of the ribbon.

This stamp set is called BECAUSE I CARE.

Because I Care...

This is one of the STAMP CLUB projects from last week.  I am really happy with this project...love the look of it.

The colors are BAJA BREEZE and CERTAINLY CELERY.  I used the TULIP FRAME EMBOSSING FOLDER to get that "frame" look around the edge of the card.

 
I don't think you can tell from the photograph, but I did use the WHITE SHIMMER PAINT on the hydrangea.  Here is what I did:

• Use the markers to color the flower.  I first used BAJA BREEZE on the flower and then used a darker color (MARINA MIST) on the edge of the flower and some of the center points.
• Use CERTAINLY CELERY on the stem and leaves and also OLD OLIVE to give some definition on the leaves.
• Use a SPONGE DAUBER and WHITE SHIMMER PAINT and dab it all around the hydrangea.  It will turn your dauber "blue."  Use a second dauber for the leaves/stem part.  That one will turn green.
• Then stamp it on the WHISPER WHITE CARDSTOCK.  I actually wanted to use the CHAMPAGNE SHIMMER PAINT...but for some reason that bottle is missing from my stamp room!  Ha...wonder where that could have gone?  You can see the shimmer of the white when you are looking at the card in person...but the champagne color would have been better in the photograph!
• To make that ribbon all "scrunched" up...I used a piece of SNAIL on the WHISPER WHITE CARDSTOCK.  But after the fact....I would RECOMMEND using STICKY STRIP instead.  I think that will hold it better for a longer amount of time.
• HINTS for scrunching the ribbon.  Just start from one end and fold and pinch the ribbon as you go.  I snipped the ends of the ribbon to give it that "v" look.
• Then for the finishing touch....add a tiny PEARL on the ends of the ribbon.

 

The stamp set is called BECAUSE I CARE.  It is a hostess level 1 set.

 

This card could be easily used for so many different occasions.  I am thinking a feminine birthday card, a get well saying, Mother's Day, sympathy, thinking of you, just because....it really can go for anything!
