More Apothecary Art

I blogged about this set a couple of days ago and need to say more.  Thanks to Alexis for sending me this beauty.  It uses the paper that was a FREEBIE item during SALE-A-BRATION.  The colors are so fun together.  I never would have put these colors together...but that is the beauty of using the artwork that they have already designed for us!  Don't think too hard...use what they have done.

Take a look at the VINTAGE BRAD and the CROCHET RIBBON used on this project.  Really makes it look great.  

Here is one more project made by Alexis.  This one uses the soft colors of SO SAFFRON and CERTAINLY CELERY.  Plus it has an added touch with the EDGELITS BORDER used at the bottom.  Wow - this is a great card!

The coloring on this project is done with MARKERS.  The best part about the markers is that they are two-sided.  You have a fat tip and a skinny tip...really makes your projects easy to do.

SWEET SHOP continues...

I have been talking about the SWEET SHOP PRODUCT SUITE for the last couple of posts.  The products all coordinate so well...and so fun to see what you can do with them!  

Today's card features WISTERIA WONDER, POOL PARTY and SOFT SUEDE as the main colors.  The wisteria polka dotted paper is EMBOSSED so the white dots are raised.  You can feel the texture.  

The stamp set is called SWEET CAKE.  Notice the WHITE STRIPED LINES on the base of the card...those are made with the STRIPED EMBOSSING FOLDER and the BIG SHOT.  

These products are available until the end of April.

More SWEET SHOP

Here is another fun card sample using SWEET SHOP products.  I talked about the whole suite in yesterday's post.  

I like this layout using 3 square piece of the designer paper.  Just use your 1 3/8" SQUARE PUNCH to get the punched pieces for your project.  

The main colors here are CALYPSO CORAL and POOL PARTY.  The designer paper features cakes, cupcakes, pies....looks like all yummy stuff!

The thin ribbon was a FREE product during sale-a-bration...but now that is done.  The brads are the IN-COLOR pack of brads.

Sweet Shop is the Ticket!

The OCCASIONS MINI CATALOG features a product suite called SWEET SHOP.  The products are shown on pages 32-35.  I thought I would share some ideas over the next few days with these "sweet" products.  :)

The colors in the suite are the IN-COLORS...so you get CALYPSO CORAL, LUCKY LIMEADE, WISTERIA WONDER, POOL PARTY, ISLAND INDIGO, plus they use SOFT SUEDE and WHISPER WHITE to round out the color selections.

This card uses 3 thin strips of the DESIGNER PAPER at the left and then 3 BRADS in the right corner. What a great layout to copy!!!  Of course I can't help but mention the RUFFLED RIBBON that is available in all the IN-COLORS.  

The PRODUCT SUITE has stickers, stamps, paper, brads, twine and embossing powder that all coordinate.  Check out pages 32-35.

Mixed Bunch Fun

Don't you love this?  Another great creation by Peg.  I am always so happy to get together with her and see her latest creations.

The stamp set and punch coordinate to make things easy for you.  They are featured in the OCCASIONS MINI CATALOG which ends on April 30th.  The stamp set is called MIXED BUNCH.  The punch is called BLOSSOM.  If you look back at previous posts you will see that I have featured it a few times.  I think this is about my favorite stamp and punch as of today!!!  (You know how that changes - ha!)

Colors are CONCORD GRAPE and LUCKY LIMEADE.  They are both part of the IN-COLORS grouping. 

Check out the leaves....the texture on them is from the EMBOSSING FOLDER.  What a great touch!  The center of the flower uses a VINTAGE BRAD.  Take notice of the sponging on the edges of the WHISPER WHITE cardstock using the CONCORD GRAPE color.

See how three of the flowers are stamping on the WHISPER WHITE base card and the one stamped on scraps and punched out.  Add a center piece from the BOHO BLOSSOMS PUNCH and you have another added touch.

Happy Birthday with a cherry on top!

It is Leap Day and guess who has a birthday today?  My darling hubby!!  Do you know anyone who was born on Leap Day?  It is a fun, special day around here!  The kids think it is so fun that they are older than he is...or sometimes they are the same age!

Here is a darling project that we did in club last week.

I wanted to do something that used the CHERRY EMBOSSING POWDER (it really smells good) and also the LABELS COLLECTION Framelits Dies.  This is what I came up with...fun stuff!

The cherries stamp is from the BUTTON BUDDIES STAMP SET.  The colors in the project are CHERRY COBBLER and PEAR PIZZAZZ.  I used the markers to color on the cherry stamp.  That way you can get both colors.  Remember to HUFF on your colored stamp before you press it on the cardstock.

Take a look at the photo below...can you see the shiny cherries?  That is because they are EMBOSSED!  So after the cherries and stem are stamped, then I used the VERSAMARKER PEN to color just on the cherries.  It is like the VERSAMARK PAD which is such a great product for any embossing.  Dump the cherry embossing powder on top of it and heat it up.  The powder is clear.  Hmmmmmm it smells so yummy!

I used the new PLEATED SATIN RIBBON to go across the project.  If you cut that ribbon with a good sharp scissors it really works slick!

On the inside I cut out another LABELS COLLECTION and used that sweet saying!

I wanted to try and line up 3 gold brads on the WORD WINDOW PUNCH...so the best thing for me to do is use the little guide to help me do that.  See the photo below.

Here is what the VEARSAMARKER PEN looks like....and also the CHERRY EMBOSSING POWDER.  There are 2 other scents...vanilla and melon.  Yummy!

Love the layout here with the big circle (just place it on your project and then cut off the straight edges). 

The big STAR PUNCH has a smaller star layered on top of it.  And take note how she scrunched the ribbon...to do this...just put down a strip of ADHESVIE, then scrunch and press your ribbon in place.

Potpourri of Samples

I participated in a card exchange...here are some of the samples I received.

Made by Linda Wiese.  She used the SHAVING CREAM TECHNIQUE for the white layer.  The colors are WISTERIA WONDER and CALYPSO CORAL.  There are 4 flowers punched out with the new BLOSSOM PUNCH.

Made by Susan Legits.  Colors are ELEGANT EGGPLANT and LUCKY LIMEADE.  Love that LACE RIBBON used going across the card.  

Made by Sherri Gough.  Colors are RICH RAZZLEBERRY and EARLY EXPRESSO.  She used the new FRAMELITS LABELS on page 6 of the OCCASIONS MINI CATALOG.

Paper Doily is a new item

I have noticed lots of samples on the web with this PAPER DOILY sizzlit.  I thought it was time to play!  This is the card that my customers made at the latest Stamp-A-Stack class.

LUCKY LIMEADE, REGAL ROSE, WHISPER WHITE and SO SAFFRON are the colors.  The big flower is a  stamp from MIXED BUNCH (new set on page 17 of the OCCASIONS MINI) and it has a coordinating punch called BLOSSOM.  That always makes it nice and easy to punch out!!!

I stamped the sentiment on a piece of white cardstock and then punched it out with the WORD WINDOW PUNCH.  Layer that on the MODERN LABEL PUNCH.

Take a look at the flower...there are 2 flowers layered on top of one another.  I did snip the flowers in a few places to help them curl up a bit.  HINT to make the edges curl...use the BONE FOLDER and wipe that along the edge of the flower to curl it.  I then used a PEARL in the center of the flower.

The hint to get all of the cutouts cleaned out...roll the doily around a pencil and those little buggers go flying everywhere!  The LARGE SIZZLITS PAPER DOILY is featured on p. 7 of the OCCASIONS MINI CATALOG (along with some Edgelits and Embossing Folders).

Sweet Pressed Cookie Stamps

Take your love of stamping into the kitchen!  Or give this as a gift to someone who loves baking!

The Cookie Stamps come in 2 different options.  There is the HOLIDAY set (jack-o-lantern, snowflake and heart) and the OCCASIONS set (bunny, flower, clover).  You get a wooden handle with each set.  The silicone stamp fits on the handle and you press it into the dough.

I used the SUGAR COOKIE recipe that came with the packaging.  It suggested "if the stamp sticks to the dough...then add a little more flour."  That is exactly what happened to me.  It really was an easy and fun project.  (Plus...I do eat cookie dough!)
