My nephew is in the Navy and close to earning his wings (August 12th).  On July 3rd we had quite the thrill as he was able to fly over us in Ankeny and dip his wing at us.

Beautiful isn't it?  Thanks to Wendy for sharing.  This is so elegant & crisp.

 

The sentiment is from the CURLY CUTE stamp set.  The white ribbon is the 5/8" ORGANZA RIBBON. 

The embossing folder is ELEGANT BOUQUET.  You run the cardstock through the BIG SHOT and get that flower texture.  The birds have the polka dots...and those are made with the PERFECT POLKA DOTS embossing folder.

Other punches used:  1 1/4" SQUARE PUNCH, 1 3/8" SQUARE PUNCH, HEART TO HEART PUNCH.

Playful Polka Dots Scrappin' Kit

This Simply Scrappin' Kit is available until the end of August.  The color are fun and bright.  They are PUMPKIN PIE, ROSE RED, DAFFODIL DELIGHT, and OLD OLIVE.  All of the supplies in this kit are great for 12 x 12 projects...but everything can be cut down to be used for smaller projects too.

 
Here is a 6x6 scrapbook that was on display on our Alaskan Cruise.  I don't know who the artist is...so if you do, please let me know :)

The front cover is absolutely beautiful with the stampin done on the linen cover, the ribbon and the added cardstock flowers.  Wouldn't this be a lovely gift to give or receive?

More Stamping Meeting Photos

This is the DOUBLE EMBOSSING Technique that Wendy also used yesterday.  The designer paper is BEYOND THE GARDEN...yummy colors for summer time!  Notice the saying...it is done with markers so that you can use 2 different colors.  When you do the marker technique don't forget to "huff" on the stamp before you put it on the paper.  That helps get the markers moist!

Can you see the tiny pearls on the center of the butterfly?  Love that tiny detail...really makes it pop!  The butterfly is the BEAUTIFUL WINGS EMBOSSLIT.  You get 5 sizes of butterflies from that one embosslit.

 

Dianna mailed this to me....love the patriotic theme!  And take a look....it has the DOUBLE EMBOSSING technique too.  It is a popular technique right now!  She used the TOP NOTE DIE for the white cardstock.  She also did the marker technique for the flag stamp called LAND OF THE FREE.

Stamping Meeting = Fun Times!

I hosted a meeting at my house for the other demonstrators in the area.  These "meetings" are always a good time.  Everyone brings along their camera to take photos of one another's samples.  We all love to see what each other is stamping.

This is the project Wendy brought for us to make:

 
It is a fun technique that is super popular right now.  You can call is DOUBLE EMBOSSING.  You run a full sheet of paper plus some other pieces (flowers punched out for this example) through the embossing folder.  This example uses the SQUARE LATTICE embossing folder.  It really makes for some fun texture!

 
Colors:  MARINA MIST, WISTERIA WONDER ( a new color...love it!) and CALYPSO CORAL (another new color).  The flowers are punched with the TRIPLE LAYER PUNCH called BLOSSOM BOUQUET.  This is a sweet punch that gives you lots of options.

Here is my creation....using lots of NEW COLORS!  I used WISTERIA WONDER, CALYPSO CORAL, LUCKY LIMEADE, and POOL PARTY.

 

This stamp set is called SWEETS FOR THE SWEET. To make the pinwheel have a little fun I stamped one pinwheel on the card...then stamp another one of a piece of scrap...cut it out...attach it with a brad.  It really does spin.  Add some DAZZLING DIAMONDS GLITTER for a little sparkle too!

Giddy-Up Partner!

Whoa Cowboy!  Just got back from Nashville where I was attending the Stampin' Up! Leadership Conference.  On the first night they took us out on the town for a "night of Nashville."  We didn't really know where we were going...but we knew it would be fun!

First they handed out cowboy hats for y'all...

 
This is Carrie, Dianna, Shauna, Leanne and I.

Then we boarded a bus and headed for the WILDHORSE SALOON.  Yee-haw!  They had good eats ready for us, music and some line dancing lessons.

 

First we were entertained by Dave Robbins who is with the band BlackHawk.  Then the winner of Kenny Chesney's competition was up.....BROTHER TROUBLE.  They were good!
 

They taught us some line dances that I had never seen before.  Fun stuff!
 

The Wildhorse Saloon has lots of fun statues throughout the place.  It is 3 floors of fun.
 

 

This is Margaret and Leo.  We met them on our first Stampin' Up! cruise and they are just great people!  Leo is a dairy farmer....so it made perfect sense to take a photo with the cow!
 

This is Shelli Gardner and I.  She is the CEO and co-founder of the company.  And I must say that she is about as sweet as pie!!!
 
When we got back to our hotel they handed us a new stamp set (which will be coming out this summer) and this fabulous new bag!!!  My boys will be so glad that I have "another" purse!

I love the use of the square punches.  You can adapt this layout to whatever stamps and paper you have!!

 
Notice the 3 little rhinestones on the card?  We now sell a package of just rhinestone embellishments and also a package of pearls.  They have adhesive on them...so just lift them up and place on your project.

Fun At The Fair

Peggy and I shared a booth at the Plymouth County Fair this summer.  We always have so much fun talking to anyone who walks by.........we love to share our Stamping Passion!!!
