The new IN-COLORS...take a peek!

When I was on the Alaskan Cruise in May we got to see the new IN-COLORS and also got the ink pads and cardstock.  They are fun, summery colors.  Want to see them?  Thanks to my friend Dawn O. for doing all the work on her blog.  She has allowed me to use her work and provide you with a link....  Thanks Dawn!

I tell you...this summer schedule has been crazy for me.  I feel like I have not spent ANY TIME stamping...and I have having withdrawals!  ha

Just Believe by Dianna

I received this beautiful card in the mail for Easter from my friend Dianna.  Isn't it lovely? 

 
The colors are definitely yummy!  They are DAFFODIL DELIGHT, PEACH PARFAIT, PEAR PIZZAZZ and POPPY PARADE.  The stamp set is called JUST BELIEVE. 

 
The coloring  technique is using the MARKERS.  You color right on the stamp with your markers.  Then give it a good "huff" to breathe life back into the ink (makes it juicy!)

The saying is punched out with the WORD WINDOW PUNCH and then layered on the MODERN LABEL PUNCH.

 
This stamp set came out in the July 2010 big catalog.  I sure hope it stays around for awhile...cuz I love it!

Notice the embossing folder is the same one here...but it has its own look with the CONCORD GRAPE color.  This card also uses more of the IN COLORS for this year....PEAR PIZZAZZ and PEACH PARFAIT.  The IN COLORS will be here to stay for a long time!

Selecting Colors For A Project

Vintage Vogue Strikes Again

This card is made using SOFT SUEDE and WHISPER WHITE.  Good news...SOFT SUEDE is one of the IN-COLORS...but it will be staying in the color line-up for Stampin' Up!

Thanks go to Stacy for providing inspiration for this card.

It uses the VINTAGE VOGUE STAMP SET which is in the Occasions Mini Catalog.  This stamp set is available until the end of April.  You can get this stamp set in the traditional wood blocks or the new clear style.  There are 8 stamps in the set.

 
Other supplies used on the project:

• LARGE flower punch
• Soft Suede polka dot ribbon
• clear button
• linen thread
• Scallop Trim Border Punch

The LATTICE die

This card features the colors MELON MAMBO, BASIC BLACK, and WHISPER WHITE.  The  design for the main part of the card is the LATTICE DIE that you cut with the BIG SHOT.  Take a closer look...there is the top layer using the melon mambo and then there is a second layer in black.

The saying is layered on 2 punches:  WORD WINDOW and MODERN LABEL.

COLOR RENOVATION

Stampin' Up! is doing some major color renovation.  Starting on July 1, 2010 there will be 4 color familes:  BRIGHTS, NEUTRALS, REGALS and SUBTLES.  No longer will there be the EARTH ELEMENTS.  They have done a ton of research to find out what the color trends are doing, have done, etc.

All the color families have been revamped with 5 NEW beautiful colors, Returning In Colors and of course some of our favorite colors will be retiring.  The new colors are so RICH looking.  Kraft cardstock is now going to be called CRUMB CAKE!

The 5 brand new colors are:

While many of our favorite colors may be leaving, take a moment to really look at the new color collections.   If you think you are going to miss the retiring colors, then you may want to stock  up on INK refills and cardstock.  Your ink pads will last you forever.  Grab the colors you cannot live without.  Brilliant Blue has been one of my favorites for a long time, so I know I will get extra cardstock on hand for my own scrapbooking.  But...look at the colors coming back and the new ones they are introducting.  Baja Breeze is coming back!  And so is Wild Wasabi!

Circle Circus

Another project from this month's stamp club.

The stamp set is called CIRCLE CIRCUS.  The colors used are CRUSHED CURRY, BERMUDA BAY and RICH RAZZLEBERRY.

 
I used a sponge to dab on the color that you can lightly see in the background.  Randomly stamp a bunch of the circle images using the 3 colors.  I also stamped a few of the images on scrap cardstock and them punched them out the with 1/2" CIRCLE PUNCH and the 3/4" CIRCLE PUNCH.  Then put those on the card with DIMENSIONALS.  It really pops out!

The sayings are from the stamp set called TEENY TINY WISHES.  There are 28 verses in that set.  Every one of them fits on the WORD WINDOW PUNCH.  (HINT:  I always stamp on the scrap cardstock and them punch out the saying with the word window punch).  The 2nd punch is called MODERN LABEL.  It layers perfectly!!!

Oh Christmas Tree...

...with the PATTERNED PINES (Hostess Level 1 set)

This is SOFT SUEDE (one of the current 'in-colors") and very vanilla.  I love using just one color with either white or vanilla. 

The snowflake is stamped on the background cardstock (which is soft suede).  The polka dot ribbon is also soft suede.

The saying is from the set TEENY TINY WISHES.  It is layered used the WORD WINDOW punch, then the LARGE OVAL punch, then the SCALLOP OVAL punch.
