Card Box = Great Gift Idea!

Looking for a neat gift that can keep on giving?  Check out the Stampin' Card Keeper.

This item is in the HOLIDAY MINI CATALOG on page 35.  It sells for $8.95.  It is a paper-covered chipboard box (very sturdy) to organize cards by month, theme, holiday...  It comes ALL WHITE and you can personalize it.  The box flaps comes with adhesive making it easy to assemble. It includes the silver metal label holder and six dividers inside.

I used the pattern that comes with it to trace a piece of designer paper (SPICE CAKE...MY FAVORITE) and create a special flower arrangement on the lid.  Special thanks to Wendy for bringing her creation to our last demonstrator meeting.  I basically copied her idea very closely!!!

I did use a piece of FABRIC for the big brown flower.  But the rest of the flower arrangement is paper from the SPICE CAKE designer paper package.

What a great gift idea....give this with some cards inside.  Then you can keep giving cards throughout the year.  Who wouldn't love to receive such a gift???

I can also see this as a fantastic baby shower, bridal shower, special occasion (anniversary)...birthday event.  For a baby shower you could have the people write a sweet little note to the family and they could use it as a keepsake box.  It could be a recipe box....or so many ideas!

Beautiful Jewelry To Share...

Here are some ideas on what you can do with the SIMPLY ADORNED CHARMS that are from Stampin' Up!  I have the 1" x 1 1/4" charm that I wear as a necklace.  There are many ways to use ths charms.  I am hoping to offer a class soon!  EMAIL ME if you want to be put on that alert list!!

So I have made some different inserts that go in the necklace....then I change them with whatever outfit I am wearing.  The jewelry is double-sided....so I like to make two inserts.

Recipe Box

One of the items in the Occasions Mini Catalog is a recipe box called RECIPES BY DESIGN.  It is a clever, functional box that is all ready for you to use.  There is no crafting on this item.  Makes a great gift idea too!

You get recipe cards, divider card and then some embellishments to put on the cards.  The box stands up for easy reading...then folds back up for storage on your counter or in the cupboard.

More Fabric Fun

I have been playing with more fabric to see what I can create...

This fabric is polyester.  It has pink flowers throughout the white fabric.  This is made using the Daisies #2 Die and the BIG SHOT.  I used a pink brad in the center.  To get it to look all scrunched up....you need to heat it up with the heat tool.  See a video here.

This flower is made with the SCALLOP CIRCLE #2 die and the BIG SHOT.  This fabric is very special to my friend, Ruth.  It is her mother's favorite skirt.  What a great keepsake!!!

I add a felt circle on the back of the flower with either a pink back or an alligator clip.

Gift Giving Ideas

Here are some simple, inexpensive ideas to get you thinking...

This is the TOP NOTE DIE folded at the top of the cello bag.  Thanks Jill for this idea!

Here is the TOP NOTE DIE again.  This time you need a full one and then a half one.  Attach the half piece to the back so it can hold a gift card.  Thanks Alexis for this idea!

Here is a folded piece of cardstock that can hold a gift.  Just make the folds so that it fits the gift.  Use up some cardstock and designer paper that you already have on hand.  Add the ribbon for a special touch.

You really could make this to fit any size.

December Downline Meeting Fun

It is tradition for our December gathering to include food (well I guess we do that at about every meeting).  But this we had a little more food!  But we also stamp projects and play a fun game with gift exchanging of real stamped gifts and then the ever traditional white elephant game.  What a great time once again! 

Here are some of the projects to share.  Thanks to everyone who brought projects.  We all bring our cameras and take pictures like you wouldn't believe!

Peg brought this frame.  She used designer paper in the background and added the snowflakes made with the big shot.  The letters "BELIEVE" are also done with the BIG SHOT and then put on the metal edge tags. 

Wendy brought this candy jar filled with peppermint patties.  It is decorated with RUB-ONS and also the felt flowers with a clear brad.  So many great ideas to make every-day items sparkle!

Alexis brought this stinkin' cute COCOA BAG!  You take a frosting bag and stamp on it with the white staz-on ink pad.  She filled it with cocoa for 4 people, added some chocolate chips and the marshmallows.  Then add the gift tag and it makes such a great gift.

A Bookmark For All

I used the FILIGREE BRADS to embellish these bookmarks.  Also used chipboard for the scallop square piece...that gives it a nice strong feel to it.

You see how long the ribbon is?  That way the ribbon lies in the book and the ends hang out from the top and bottom of the book.

To Bead or Not To Bead...

What a fun way to embellish a pen...

Have you seen these pens before?  They make a fun gift.

You need to use a perfectly round pen for best results.  I put STICKY STRIP on the pen and then cover it with a scrap of designer paper.  It is a great way to use up lots of scraps.  Then you need another complete layer of STICKY STRIP.  You really have to cover the entire pen where you put the paper.

To make it really easy to do this....we have STICKY PAGES that come in 12" x 12" (#114300).  That allows you to cut the STICKY STRIP to the exact size that you need to get the coverage you need.

Once you have the STICKY STRIP on, then roll it in the microbeads (#104266).  Once you are done with the beads I like to rub/roll it between my hands really fast.  That helps seal the beads in place.

1 package of the MICROBEADS will do about 12 pens.
