Leadership Samples...

In January I went to Nashville for the annual Leadership Conference.  I took lots of photos and realized that I have not shared many of them.  So...for the next posts, I will concentrate on sharing some of these great ideas!

I saw this darling bag sitting on a table and did not get the name of the owner....but this is fantastic!  Maybe I am so inspired by it because I lack the sewing talent that many have!   ha

 

The fabric used is the SPRINGTIME VINTAGE bundle that is available in the Occasions Mini Catalog.

These next photos are taken from the display boards.  They had the employees of the Stampin' Up! home office come up with different ART using different products.  Some of these were absolutely amazing!  Many of these employees are not artists....they are the ones answering the phones, packing the boxes, doing the photography, etc.

The details on this dress were amazing!

 

I was drawn to this piece of art.  I would hang this up in my home.  It is made with the FUN FLOWERS DIE and the BIG SHOT.  Just make lots of flowers and put them in a frame!

SWEET BUTTONS & Sew Suite

This new "sewing" theme in the Occasions Mini Catalog is going gang-busters!  I think it is bringing back lots of memories for those who learned to sew as a youngster.

 

Can you see the "pattern pieces" stamped on the background piece?  It is stamped MELON MAMBO ink on the MELON MAMBO cardstock.  Then it is also stamped on the DAFFODIL DELIGHT layer.

The TEMPTING TURQUOISE ink is used to stamp the BUTTONS layers.  The actual buttons are made by using the new EMBOSSLIT called SWEET BUTTONS.  It gives the buttons such texture and definition.  Bonus....is the actual stick pin added to the card :)

More Sneak Peek...

Happy New Year!!!

As I said in the last post...the new OCCASIONS MINI CATALOG begins on January 4th.  If you don't have a copy yet...just let me know!

Here is my 2nd creation.  And yes...I really did it!  :)

 
It has a punch window on the front with the DECORATIVE LABEL EXTRA LARGE PUNCH and then look how it is inside...

 
I used MELON MAMBO and CRUMB CAKE for the 2 main colors.

 
Can you guess what all the stamps look like in this set?  As I said, I can't show you the real set until January 4th. The stamp set is called CREATE A CUPCAKE. 

On the front of the card I used the TASTEFUL TRIM die with the big shot to get those curvy lines and zig-zag lines.  This is a fun die....and can you imagine using it with fabric???

To Fleece or Not To Fleece...

I am having so much fun making these pins.  I use the BIG SHOT and the CIRCLES DIE to cut out a bunch of circles.  Then I stitch them together in the center.  Who has a bunch of buttons that they have been saving?  Here is the perfect way to use some of them :)

Fleece Pins and Circles

This makes me think of a warm cozy jacket....or a fleece blanket....all wrapped up on a chilly day!

Here are the fleece pins I have been making with circles.  I use the CIRCLES #2 die and the BIG SHOT to cut out the circles.  You can cut at least 3 layers at a time.

Headbands For All Girls

I have been having fun creating fabric flowers and then clipping them onto these stretchy headbands.  They have been a hit! 

To make the flower pin, I use the SCALLOP CIRCLES #2 DIE and the BIG SHOT.  I can cut out 8 layers of fabric at one time.  Gotta love that!!!

Then I put an alligator clip on the back to make it easy to grab onto the headband.  Or you can just wear it alone in your hair.

Quilting with the BIG SHOT

Time to share a few more ideas on quilting with the BIG SHOT. 

This Americana quilt is made with the 5-point star die.  There are 5 pieces to make up the star.  The Big Shot can cut through multiple layers at once.  I have done up to 8 layers of fabric!  Gotta love that for efficiency!

Elements of Style Meets Fabric

Did you know you can make these fabric flowers with the BIG SHOT?  You can cut up to 8 layers of fabric at a time!!!  How is that for productivity?

I am always drawn to black & white cards...something so simple about it that I just love!

Quilted Flower BAG TAG

Here is my 1st attempt at sewing on this type of flower.

 
I used the FLOWER FOLDS XL DIE and the BIG SHOT to cut my flowers.  This die has 4 sizes of flowers...so you can get a lot done quickly.

I wanted to try the method where you use the batting in between the fabric...so youmake a sandwich with your fabric - then batting - then fabric.  Make sure that the good side of the fabric is showing towards the top and also showing on the bottom side.  You can cut this all at once.

Then I used my sewing machine to do the stitching to follow the petals.

Take the CROP-A-DILE and punch a hole in the center of it all.  I used the striped chocolate ribbon and tied a knot up top.  Then....left some loose ends.  This can be tied onto a piece of luggage, add it to a backpack, a purse, etc.

Lori Makes The Savannah Bag

I have been admiring different projects made with the BIG SHOT and FABRIC.  So...I got myself some fabric and gave it a try.  I am so excited about this...I really did remember how to sew after many years!!!  I even added a coordinating fabric flower.

 
I learned how to do this by watching the video from Chic 'n Scratch.  This gal is amazing!!!!

Here are some tips how to do it.  You need a total of 24 SCALLOP SQUARES cut out with the BIG SHOT.  There are 12 of each side of the bag.  Those get sewn together using a straight stitch.

There is even a lining in this bag!  This is my first attempt at creating my own pocket.  I did not have instructions for this!!

When you sew the ruffle on....it looks pretty tacky, but then it all gets turned inside-out!

 
I sure do love this!  I gave away this bag to my friend DIANNA....she was so gracious to pick me up from the airport last weekend.  What a hostess with the mostess she was!
