A Beautiful Bouquet

Have to share this great card with you.  It is done with the marker technique.

 
Marker Technique:  Color directly on the stamp with the markers.  I like to start with the lightest colors first.  After you are done with all the coloring, then you need to "huff" on the stamp to "remoisten" the ink from the markers.  Then stamp it on your cardstock.

The white texture is the SQUARE LATTICE EMBOSSING FOLDER.  This embossing folder has been cut out to have that smooth spot.

The stamp set is called WATERCOLOR TRIO.  It is available in the clear mount or the wood mount.

All of the new stamp sets in the 2010-2011 Idea Book & Catalog are available in the traditional WOOD MOUNT STAMPS or the new CLEAR MOUNT STAMPS.  Take a look at how the CLEAR MOUNT STAMPS work.

Some people are turning their old stamps into the new clear style.  I have not tried that yet.  If you already have a bunch of the clear stamps from other places, we also sell the clear cases so it makes it easy to organize your stamping space.

CLEAR STAMPS - TUTORIAL

People have been asking me tips on how to put these stamps together.  I love doing it like this.

This is what the clear stamp case looks like.  It has a nice photo image of everything.

 
Inside the case you will find the stickers (on the left for this photo) and the actual stamps.

IMPORTANT:  LEAVE the stamps all put together in their little "puzzle" mold.  It makes it so easy to do this.  Just peel off the white paper to expose the sticky part of the stamp.

Now find the STICKER that matches that stamp and pick that one up.

Now think of putting it together like a puzzle.  Match up the sticker on the stamp.

Last step:  Pop out the stamp and you are ready to go.

This method works great for me!

Clear Stamps....I Am Baffled!

Ok so I admit...I have never used the clear mount stamps before last week.  I have never even paid attention to the other brands out there.  But...I have tried them (the Stampin' Up! ones) and I like them!  I truly am baffled how they work.

First you need to have clear mount stamps.  All of the stamp sets in the OCCASION MINI CATALOG are available in both the clear mount and the wood mount.  This is what they look like.  They come in a case that looks just like a DVD case.

The front cover of the case has the images on it in full size.  Makes it nice to see them all easily.

 

Second...you need to have a clear block to put the stamp on.  We have 9 different sizes of blocks.  You can buy them individually (priced from $3.95 - $16.95) or you can buy the bundle of 9 clear-mount blocks for $69.95.

 

To use the clear-mount stamps, you take a stamp from the storage case and press it onto the clear block for a couple of seconds.  You do need to give it firm pressure.  It is not sticky, it is not tacky...it just CLINGS to the block.  Then you stamp like normal into the ink pad...stamp on your cardstock....stamp into the ink again.....whatever you want to do.  When you are all done, you can clean the ink off the stamp just like normal.  I even scrubbed really hard to see if I could "make" the stamp come off the block.  BUT IT DIDN"T!  I tell you...I am baffled by this.  It really works!

When you finish cleaning the stamp, you just peel it off the clear block and put it back in the case.  Works like a charm!  And another bonus is the storage issue.  They are slim cases...so they can easily sit on your shelf.  You may not be able to see it in the photo...but the images are also on the binder of the case.

 
Like I said, all of the stamp sets in the OCCASIONS MINI CATALOG are available in both the clear mount and the wood mount.  The price of the clear mount is less than the wood.  For example, a set of the WOOD-mounted stamps that costs $17.95 is only $13.95 in the CLEAR-mounted stamps.
