Simply Layouts are Easy Day Project

I have been using up some of my paper that I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE...and just "have to buy."  Really this is such an easy way to put together some great looking cards in a quick way.  Take a look at the layouts and see if you can find anything in common.

Take the paper that you have and let that depict what colors are going to be in your project.  I am using up some old designer paper on these and also any embellishments that I have.

The strip of ribbon across the card always adds a little bit of fun!

Is your paper trimmer just not doing it for you?  Maybe it is time to get a new one.  This little baby has been a great item for me and my customers that already own it.  So many great feature and everybody is raving about it!!

The Tree Again! and the BIG SALE starts today

Lovely As A Tree is still around!

This stamp set has been around for at least 10 years...and it is still a fav of so many!

BLACK and VERY VANILLA are the main colors on this project.  Just another great project we made at Stamp Club this month.  Why don't you join us?  It is great fun!!  Let me know if you want to be on the list!

We used BLACK EMBOSSING POWDER for the tree.  Remember when you do embossing to use the EMBOSSING BUDDY first on your paper (this gets rid of all the oils, static), then stamp with VERSAMARK, pour on the powder and heat up!

I cut out the shape with the APOTHECARY ACCENTS FRAMELITS. The paper that I used here is from the NEUTRALS DESIGNER PACKAGE.  You get a few pieces of patterned paper in all 8 of the Neutral colors.  

Take note of the VINTAGE CROCHET TRIM ribbon (p. 173) and the little safety pin.  That pin is from the VINTAGE TRINKETS (p. 175).  Besides the little pins you also get these super cute tiny brads that are like buttons as they have two holes in them.

I used the saying from TEENY TINY WISHES and the WORD WINDOW PUNCH to get that saying punched out.

My Favorite Card of the Season PLUS Today ONLY Sale

I saw this idea on someone's blog and fell in love with the colors.  They are RIVER ROCK and BRAVO BURGANDY.  I truly love this card so much...it is the total package for me!

We did the card at Stamp Club this month.  Crumple up the FIRST EDITION DESIGNER PAPER and then try and flatten it out just a bit.  The stamp set is GENTLY FALLING (p. 86) and has lots of great leaves in it.  This is a two-step set where you have solid images and then line images to work together.

The sentiment is from the new set called TRUST GOD (p. 136).  Each saying in this set is just as fabulous as the next!  I used some ANTIQUE BRADS and the BRUSHED BRONZE BUTTONS for these samples.  Not sure if you can tell but I did splatter BRAVO BURGANDY INK from the MARKER all over the designer paper.  You do that with the COLOR SPRITZER TOOL (p. 179)

Stampin' Up! Convention Countdown!

I have not blogged about this...but that doesn't mean that I am not excited about it!  Did I tell you that I am going to Convention in Salt Lake City on Tuesday?  And did I tell you that I am taking my sister Kris who is also a demonstrator?  We are going to have soooooooooo much fun!

This is a sweet card that my sister mailed to me.  I love all the bright colors:  OLD OLIVE, TEMPTING TURQUOISE, SO SAFFRON, and PINK PASSION.  She used the TOP NOTE die with the BIG SHOT and put it through twice (the so saffron layer and the whisper white layer).  Then she trimmed the whisper white layer just a bit so that you can double them up!

Convention is truly a rockin' time....so many ideas, old friends to see, new people to meet, ideas, ideas, ideas!  Plus I am sure they will show up lots of products from the new HOLIDAY MINI CATALOG!

Did I mention that we will be doing some stamping too!?!?  All the freebies they give away make you feel like you are quite the winner (and we all are!)  So...if this is something you want to join me for next summer, please think about it.  It will be the company's 25th Anniversary next summer and I am guessing that they will really be pulling out all the stops!

Bonus:  I have been blessed with visits from family this summer. Love family!!!  This is my great niece Audrey.  Love that red hair!

Make A Cake

You can make a cake and eat it too!  This stamp set is called MAKE A CAKE (p. 44).  You can see below the stamps that come in the set.  There is a layering process to make the cake be this tall.  :)

The colors are some of the NEW in-colors:  MIDNIGHT MUSE, SUMMER STARFRUIT, PRIMROSE PETALS and the other color is BAJA BREEZE.

The sentiment is in the BITTY BANNERS products (p. 134 is the set and p. 191 the framelits).  I think these are going to be really popular!  You can get the FRAMELITS that cut out the shape and also the stamp set that makes it coordinate just so.

The PATIO PARTY Designer Paper package is very festive and makes you feel like you should be on vacation!

Once it is all put together then use the 2-WAY GLUE PEN and DAZZLING DIAMONDS GLITTER to make the whole cake sparkle!  On top of the cake are tiny little banners...these are colored in with the markers.

Enjoy the variety of samples today!

Elements of Style meets Elementary Elegance

How about a yummy for this card?  Thanks to Peg for sharing her talents on this one.  CRUMB CAKE and BASIC BLACK are the main colors and then add in a little VERY VANILLA.

The stamp set at the bottom of the card is ELEMENTS OF STYLE (p. 134 available in clear or wood).  It is a great set to use as the focal point or as it is here as a background.  The LACE RIBBON BORDER PUNCH #122362 is used going across the middle of the card.  You can make this punch go on and on and on....great to create a border.

The butterflies are made by using the BEAUTIFUL BUTTERFLIES EMBOSSLIT.  They are textured and cut out for you as you run it through the BIG SHOT.  Then add the PEARLS #119247 on top of the butterflies.

The stamp set on the VERY VANILLA is ELEMENTARY ELEGANCE.  It is one of the FREE items during SALE-A-BRATION.  It is available in wood or clear.  Spend $50 and pick a free item.  The CURLY LABEL PUNCH #119851 is used to punch out the saying.

Fun, Bright Color Combination

This is not a color combination that I would start with...but after seeing it I really like it!  It is DAFFODIL DELIGHT and TANGERINE TANGO with a little bit of OLD OLIVE.

This card is a happy card...don't you think?  Maybe it reminds me of the daffodils that start peeking through the ground this time of year.  :)

The punch that makes this card all work so slick is the BLOSSOM PETALS BUILDER PUNCH #121808.  It coordinates with the stamp set BUILD A BLOSSOM.  That set is available in both clear and wood on page 112.  It is a set of 12 stamps. 

In the center of the flower is an ANTIQUE BRAD #117273 and also notice the tiny bit of twine used.  The LACE RIBBON is the VICTORIA 5/8" RIBBON and is also available in the CHANTILLY 1/2".
