Hello Doily is a HIT!

We did this project at STAMP CLUB and it really was a hit.  I love watching a big image while it is heat embossed....fun to see the powder melt into the beautiful sheen.

 
The HUGE stamp is called HELLO DOILY! (What a clever name).  We stamped with the VERSAMARK INK PAD on MARINA MIST CARDSTOCK.  Then dumped WHITE EMBOSSING POWDER over everything.  BIG TIP:  always use the EMBOSSING BUDDY before you start an embossing project.  It removes all the static and oils from the paper.

To make the punch, we used the TAG PUNCH and also the ITTY BITTY PUNCH PACK for those sweet little flowers.  Notice the TINY pearls inside each flower.  LOVE IT!

Look at this fabulous card that I received from the Special Events Team at Stampin' Up!

 
It features a new stamp in the NEW CATALOG.  The stamp is called HELLO, DOILY! 

I do love the look of the WHITE STAZ-ON INK stamped on the BLACK CARDSTOCK.  It is stunning.

So the trick of this cardstock....stamp the big stamp on 1 piece of black cardstock.  Then cut it into 3 parts.  Layer the 3 parts onto BLUSHING BRIDE CARDSTOCK.  The 1st and the 3rd sections have DIMENSIONALS behind them.  But the 2nd section has a DOUBLE LAYER of DIMENSIONALS...so it really stands up!

How about that stinkin' cute ribbon knot in the center?  Not to tough to do, right?  Punch a hole in the center of the card with the CROP-A-DILE and then run the ribbon through and go behind the 1st and 3rd sections.  Attach it behind.

Medallion Fun

This big MEDALLION background stamp is a lot of fun to work with.  Here I did a technique for Stamp Club with white embossing powder and then the brayer....explanation below.

1.  
   Use GLOSSY WHITE cardstock and stamp the big MEDALLION stamp with the VERSAMARK INK.  Of course...before you do the embossing method, wipe the cardstock with the EMBOSSING BUDDY before you even start.
2. Stamp the big stamp and put WHITE EMBOSSING POWDER on it.  Heat it up...watch the magic happen with embossing.  Still love watching embossing happen!
3. Use the BRAYER and choose a color to ink it up.  When you ink it up, be sure that you run it over the ink pad many times.  When I roll it across the card I try to wiggle it back and forth.  That helps so you don't have any lines from the edges.  I used PACIFIC POINT for this sample.
4. Sometimes you need to ink the brayer more than once and add more color to the project.
5. If you want the color to pop a little more, you can now wipe off the excess ink with a tissue.
6. I stamped once again on a scrap piece of glossy and did the center of the MEDALLION stamp.  This time I again used the white embossing powder and this time used RICH RAZZLEBERRY for the color.   I PUNCHED out this with the 1 3/4" CIRCLE PUNCH and then put it on the project using DIMENSIONALS so it is popped up.

Stamp Club Samples

This card was a favorite of many at our monthly STAMP CLUB.

 
We used the MEDALLION BACKGROUND STAMP to make that big image on the CRUMB CAKE cardstock.  The saying and the vintage looking stamp comes from the set called FRIENDS 24-7.  The colors in this project are BASIC BLACK, CRUMB CAKE and VERY VANILLA.  The music notes are from the piece of paper from the NEWSPRINT DESIGNER PAPER. 

Love, love, love this look!!

 

See the half pearl on the project?  We now sell a sheet of RHINESTONES and a sheet of half PEARLS.  They are super fun to use as embellishments.

Medallion Background

This MEDALLION stamp is BIG!  It is not a new stamp to this catalog...but is still a favorite!

Bloomin' Beautiful

Here is one of the projects for stamp club in April.  I love this color combination...it is APRICOT APPEAL AND PERFECT PLUM.

The flower is from the stamp set, BLOOMIN' BEAUTIFUL.  I embossed with white powder above and with black powder below.

Here is a close up of the water color detail.  When something is already embossed...it makes it super easy to have great results with water color.  Another tip:  I like to water color on the confetti white, the naturals cardstock, or the watercolor paper.  All three of them have great qualities.

There are various ways to watercolor.  For this sample, I scribbled the watercolor pencils on a scrap of the confetti white paper.  Then I used a blender pen to "pick up" color from my paint palette.  Then just color on the object.

• Well Scripted stamp set (for the sayings)
• Sanded background stamp (I used the Apricot Appeal ink pad to make those lines all over the Apricot cardstock for most of the samples).  This is a huge stamp.
• Scallop Trim Border PUNCH
• Whisper White and Black Embossing Powder
• Heat Gun
• Versamark Stamp Pad
• Embossing Buddy (before embossing, rub this little buddy on your paper to take away all the static)
• Perfect Plum Stamp Pad (for the saying)
• Apricot Appeal Stamp Pad (for the sanded background stamp)
• Ribbon:  I used the black gingham, apricot grosgrain, white organza.

Medallion Look

This is a big giant stamp...called the Medallion.

More Medallion Cards

Have I told you how much I love this MEDALLION STAMP?  It is working out great for me :)

 

The sample above is stamped with SOFT SUEDE ink (an IN-COLOR this year) on SOFT SUEDE CARDSTOCK.  The color on the bottom part of the card is BERMUDA BAY (another IN-COLOR this year).

The stamp set is OVAL ALL.  The punches are the LARGE OVAL, SCALLOP OVAL and the WIDE OVAL.  The ribbon is the POLKA DOT SOFT SUEDE.

 

Another SOFT SUEDE card with WHITE CRAFT INK for the MEDALLION stamp.  I used a big SILVER BRAD from the FLOWER BRADS for the very center.  Take a closer look and see that there are a couple layers behind the brad.  Stamp the MEDALLION STAMP on a scrap of SOFT SUEDE in the white ink and punch the 1 1/4" CIRCLE PUNCH.  Also you need to punch a SCALLOP CIRCLE PUNCH from SOFT SUEDE.

The white piece running along the bottom is from the BRIDE SPECIALTY PAPER.  I cut it with the PAPER SNIPS.  The ribbon is the POLKA DOT SOFT SUEDE ribbon.  It is plain on one side and polka dotted on the other.
