Happy Birthday with a cherry on top!

It is Leap Day and guess who has a birthday today?  My darling hubby!!  Do you know anyone who was born on Leap Day?  It is a fun, special day around here!  The kids think it is so fun that they are older than he is...or sometimes they are the same age!

Here is a darling project that we did in club last week.

I wanted to do something that used the CHERRY EMBOSSING POWDER (it really smells good) and also the LABELS COLLECTION Framelits Dies.  This is what I came up with...fun stuff!

The cherries stamp is from the BUTTON BUDDIES STAMP SET.  The colors in the project are CHERRY COBBLER and PEAR PIZZAZZ.  I used the markers to color on the cherry stamp.  That way you can get both colors.  Remember to HUFF on your colored stamp before you press it on the cardstock.

Take a look at the photo below...can you see the shiny cherries?  That is because they are EMBOSSED!  So after the cherries and stem are stamped, then I used the VERSAMARKER PEN to color just on the cherries.  It is like the VERSAMARK PAD which is such a great product for any embossing.  Dump the cherry embossing powder on top of it and heat it up.  The powder is clear.  Hmmmmmm it smells so yummy!

I used the new PLEATED SATIN RIBBON to go across the project.  If you cut that ribbon with a good sharp scissors it really works slick!

On the inside I cut out another LABELS COLLECTION and used that sweet saying!

I wanted to try and line up 3 gold brads on the WORD WINDOW PUNCH...so the best thing for me to do is use the little guide to help me do that.  See the photo below.

Here is what the VEARSAMARKER PEN looks like....and also the CHERRY EMBOSSING POWDER.  There are 2 other scents...vanilla and melon.  Yummy!

Pretty Paper Doily

I took this picture right from the OCCASIONS MINI CATALOG.  I just thought it was such an interesting sample...very feminine with lots of character.

It uses the PAPER DOILY SIZZLIT DIE for the big white doily part.  Then it adds pieces from the ATTIC BOUTIQUE SIDE NOTES (p. 24 in the mini) and from the stamp set RUE DES FLEURS (p. 22 in the mini).

It is pretty isn't it?  The colors are POPPY PARADE, POOL PARTY, SOFT SUEDE, DAFFODIL DELIGHT and WHISPER WHITE. 

The stamp set comes with 8 stamps.

Wedding Idea For You

Yesterday I shared a wedding idea....and thought that I will share one more right away.  Time to get some great ideas for all those weddings that will be happening this spring and summer :)

This gorgeous card is made by one of my very own downline girls...Dianna Richards.  Thanks girl!  The colors are BLUSHING BRIDE (how appropriate), WHISPER WHITE and EARLY EXPRESSO.  The stamp set is LOVE & LAUGHTER.

Notice the FINIAL PRESS EMBOSSING FOLDER that is used on the bottom of the card.  Also...can you guess how that big SCALLOP EDGE is made?  It is from the TASTEFUL TRIM BIGZ DIE and the Big Shot.

The sweet HEARTS are made with the FASHIONABLEHEARTS EMBOSSLITS DIE.  The ribbon is the new PLEATED RIBBON...very fun to work with.

Love & Laughter

Need an idea for a wedding card?  Here is a winner:

Why not do a square card for something different.  I think the square cards are awesome!!  This sample came from Candy Michael.  The colors are very neutral and would work for many occasions.  They are CRUMB CAKE, VERY VANILLA, CHERRY COBBLER and EARLY EXPRESSO. 

Cut a big circle from the center using the 3" CIRCLE DIE and the BIG SHOT.  The saying is layered using the WORD WINDOW PUNCH and the MODERN LABEL PUNCH.  Two tiny pearls are added to the ends of the saying.  Also...a pearl added on the heart.  That heart is the SMALL HEART PUNCH.

The stamp set is called LOVE & LAUGHTER.  (It is found on page 29 of the Occasions Mini Catalog).

There are 8 stamps in the set.

Happy President's Day

Here are some random samples to share with you today.

This sample is from Susie Wood.  The colors are a great combination:  POOL PARTY, LUCKY LIMEADE and SO SAFFRON.  The new BLOSSOM PUNCH words great with the MIXED BLOSSOM stamp set.  Lots of fun combinations to get from that.  The HALF-PEARL in the center of the flower is a new item also.  If you don't have the OCCASIONS MINI CATALOG just let me know.

This sample is from Cathy Workowski.  The colors are taken from the EVERYDAY ENCHANTMENT DESIGNER PAPER.  If you are ever stuck for inspiration...look at some paper that is already decorated with a variety of colors.  Copy it!!!  The colors here are LUCKY LIMEADE, CALYPSO CORAL, PEAR PIZZAZZ and POOL PARTY. 

The POSTAGE STAMP PUNCH is used on the saying.  The ribbon is a free item during SALE-A-BRATION (as is the paper...and the stamp set used).  I guess the majority of the products on this card are FREE items!  whoohoo!

Pleated Ribbon is the bomb-diggity!

Are you loving the new PLEATED RIBBON?  It is so easy to work with!  It is available in 4 colors right now.  PEAR PIZZAZZ, RIDING HOOD RED, BLUSHING BRUDE and BAJA BREEZE.

This card has a lot packed into it.  The shapes behind the flower are the new FRAMELITS LABELS COLLECTION.  They are on page 6 of the Occasions Mini.  You get 6 sizes in one package.  The flower punch is called BLOSSOM (page 17).  There is a coordinating stamp set called MIXED BUNCH on that same page too.

The coloring of the flower was not done with an ink pad...but instead markers!  Color on the stamp with the markers and then "huff" on the stamp to re-moisten it before you stamp on the cardstock.

The saying is punched out with the MODERN LABEL PUNCH.

Valentine's Day is here :)

A lovely card for today.  BASIC GREY and WHISPER WHITE are the main colors...and then add in a little bit of REAL RED and some pink hues.  I love, love, love this card.  Thanks so Cathy Workowski for creating it!  

The biggest heart is cut using the new FRAMELITS DIES.  Then the sparkly red heart is cut using the HEART PUNCH and the RED GLITTER PAPER.  The smallest heart has some embossing on it...not sure how well that shows up in the photo.

The bouquet of flowers is cut out with the PAPER SNIPS (a must-have scissors for every crafter!)  The coloring on the flowers is done with the MARKERS and then a little BLING in the center of the flowers :)

Take note of the WHITE WAFFLE PAPER on the right edge of the card.  And don't forget to look at the ADORNING ACCENTS Edgelits Die used to make that cool cut!

Pacific Point, Daffodil Delight and Old Olive are the colors used here.  Great card to copy!
